Maths Relay
On Sunday, 21st September, ten students from Riverside High School, competed in the northern heat of the MAT Maths Relay at St Patrick’s College. With a 45-minute time limit, students race to complete 20 questions of increasing difficulty. Each team of 3 or 4 students has a runner (this role rotates throughout the team) who moves between the (teacher) marker and the rest of the team, some students worked up quite a sweat! The rest of the team works on the problem. When a problem is taking too long, a team may decide to pass but they cannot return back to that problem.
This year, our Intermediate team (Harry, Isaac and Kenny) placed second in the heat with a score of 60, well done gentlemen! Our Junior teams (Linh, Maddie, Michelle and Millie, as well as Freddie, Lottie and Sam) did us proud, with one of the teams placing equal fourth with a score of 120 points.
State results will be released later in the week.
