Principal’s Report

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we wrap up another vibrant and successful term, I’d like to extend my thanks to our school community, students, staff, parents, and carers for your continued support and enthusiasm. This term has been packed with extracurricular activities that have enriched our students learning experiences and strengthened our school spirit and student connections.

School Community Day

On Thursday, the Student Grade Councils and Prefects hosted our annual School Community Day. The food stalls, barbecue, sponge throwing, and lolly stand were a huge success, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and staff alike.

The Prefects also organised a Casual Clothes Day, adding to the fun and raising additional funds. All money raised by the student leaders will go towards mental health awareness.

Lunch activities provided a wonderful opportunity for students to connect, engage, and enjoy the festivities. Laughter echoed through the gymnasium as Mr. Stabb and Ms. Fitzallen assisted with the mullet haircuts, another creative initiative that raised money for mental health support.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day memorable!

Term 4 Calendar Update

The online school calendar has now been updated to reflect Term 4 events, including our much-anticipated Year 10 celebration activities. Please take a moment to review the calendar to stay informed about upcoming events and key dates. http://riversidehs.schoolzineplus.com/calendar

VET Civil Construction Information Session 2026

We warmly invite students and families to attend the VET Civil Construction Information Session on Thursday, 16th October at 5:30pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. This session, hosted in partnership with TasTAFE, will provide valuable insights into pathways in civil construction.

School Fair – Friday, 24th October

Mark your calendars for our School Fair in Week 2, on Friday, 24th October! This exciting event will feature a wide range of external stallholders, delicious food, live music, and plenty of community spirit. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for fine weather and look forward to seeing you there.

Year 8 Mountain Bike Program

Our Year 8 students have been engaging in a dynamic Mountain Bike Program that goes beyond physical activity. The program focuses on relationships and adolescence, supported by our dedicated school social worker, psychologist, and Year 8 leadership team. It’s been a fantastic opportunity for students to build resilience and connect meaningfully with their peers and mentors.
