Principal’s Report
Dear Parents and Guardians,
At Riverside High School, we take great pride in offering a diverse range of extracurricular opportunities across sport, the arts, leadership, and academic enrichment. These programs empower our students to discover their passions, build confidence, and form meaningful connections with others. Whether on the field, on stage, or serving in the community, our students continue to shine.
In this week’s newsletter, we celebrate the breadth of activities on offer and acknowledge the dedication of our staff who make these programs possible through their ongoing support and coordination.

Celebrating Our Sporting Success
Congratulations to all our sports teams who have competed in finals over the past two weeks!
Our involvement in the NHSSA Winter Sports Roster has focused on participation, developing students’ fitness and skills in their chosen sport, leadership, and building friendships and connections with peers.
A huge thank you to all parents and guardians who have supported our teams whether as spectators, umpires, or coaches.
In this week’s newsletter, you’ll find scores and reports from each game. We look forward to offering NHSSA Winter Sports again in 2026 and hope to expand some of the sports into the summer months of Term 1.
Student Leadership 2026
The Student Leadership process is well underway. Last Friday, a large group of aspiring Year 9 leaders spent the day at the Tailrace Centre learning about leadership styles, team dynamics, and the roles and responsibilities of leaders at Riverside High School.
Students worked in teams to develop innovative ideas to solve problems and create community initiatives. They are now busy writing their leadership applications.
If you have any questions about the process, please contact a member of the Year 9 Grade Leadership Team.
