Prefects Profiles

Hi, my name is Imogen, and I am a member of the Courage and Wellbeing Portfolio, as well as the House Prefect for Lawson. Within my portfolio I work alongside Sophie R, Hollie, Jenna, Sophie B, Oryn, Jack, Skyla and Aurora. As a group we work closely on promoting an environment that focuses on enhancing the wellbeing of students. To attain this goal the board has been implementing many activities across the school. During lunchtimes we run a basketball roster for 7/8s and 9/10s where different Houses compete against each other. Last month to incorporate the Paris Olympics the Wellbeing Portfolio ran a challenge for Grade 7 and 8 Home Groups. Each Home Group was given a country and were challenged to decorate their classroom in theme. This was a great success and it was positive to see so many classrooms displaying the Olympic spirit.

During my time at Riverside High School, I have valued every opportunity I have been provided with. I believe being a Prefect is a great way to give back to the school community. Over my time at High School, I have been a member of the Grade 8 and 9 Council as well as a Chair Monitor. During my free time I am a dedicated soccer player which has helped me develop traits of leadership, collaboration and resilience. I am also someone who is committed to their studies and I enjoy Sport Science, Science and Health. When I am not playing soccer, I enjoy reading, shopping, travelling and spending time with my family and friends.

For the remainder of the year, I hope to develop more activities that include everyone within the school. I enjoy working within a team and believe we have a Prefect Board that can help promote inclusion and wellbeing.

My name is Kacey and I am a part of the Community Portfolio for the 2024 Prefect Board, I work alongside my peers to organise fundraisers and create events that will benefit and raise money for our school as well as others. In my free time, I enjoy playing netball, touch football and AFL football. I also enjoy spending time outside in the sun and at the beach or pool. At school, I am passionate about all subjects but especially enjoy cooking and physical education.

I began my leadership journey in primary school when I sought ways to help others and the school. This made me realise how much I wanted to become a leader in my school and community, motivating me to become the core leader of the primary school, which I did with pride and passion.

Grade 10 has always been something I have been looking forward to, not because I want to finish school but because I want to make the most of the year. I want to be able to look back on my year and be happy with the memories. This made me want to help others to achieve the same dream. Last year during prefect applications I included a promise to the school community. In that promise I discussed how my goal was for students to enjoy school, I wanted them to be able to tell the people at home how their day was and say one good thing that happened. Reflecting on the year so far and seeing the smiles on people's faces during activities that we have organised fills me with satisfaction to know that we made a positive impact. For the continuing weeks of this year, I endeavour to work with my peers and try my hardest to improve the well-being of the students here at Riverside High School.
